One Sunday morning in January I was at a local café with my husband, whilst we waited for coffee’s I happened to scroll through my Instagram feed and noticed that one of my most favourite MUAs, Lilit Caradanian was coming to Australia, hosted by Wedded Wonderland Lilit was going to be teaching masterclass’ in Sydney and Melbourne.  I instantly sent through an enquiry and a few days later I invested in the two day masterclass.

A couple of months later I finally attended the training in Sydney at Wedded Wonderland HQ in Alexandria. Walking up and waiting with a group of other excited MUAs was a bit daunting at first, but the girls were all so friendly – united by an obsession with makeup artistry and eager to meet one of their Makeup idols, Lilit.

The training set up was breathtaking… seriously breathtaking! It was styled by Noel Nasser Events and no detail was left out. Spectacular florals, lighting, candy bar and workstations set up for each artist that were fully stocked with all the supplies needed to create makeup looks over the coming days.

Day 1 we spent time introducing ourselves and talking about building your business as a makeup artist then we got stuck into the first makeup demo of the day, Lilit’s signature look the “Cat Eye Smokey” this look is great for clients that have rounder eyes that need a bit more of a lift that can be achieved by a regular cat eye.

Day 2 we started with a soft smokey eye that was amped up to a dramatic black smokey eye incorporating contouring and other high fashion techniques into a full face of makeup.

Whilst we perfected the techniques both Lilit and her amazing sister Marina (who is also an extrememly talented MUA) spent time walking around giving us one on one tips and assistance. I kept pinching myself the whole time I was there, not only was I part of an intimate group of girls getting exceptional training but both Lilit and Marina were happy to chat and hang out with us like we were friends. I can honestly say I haven’t met two such genuine people in a long time.

There is a lot of amazing professional development opportunities for MUAs in Australia and the advance of online training technologies has further opened up opportunity to get to know MUAs that are not local to Australia. Given my time again I would happily invest in more training with Lilit, in fact I also subscribe to her training channel Makeup by Lilit LIVE – a great web based resource.

Finally, a BIG shout out to Hanadi @ Wedded Wonderland, Hanadi put together an amazing event for us and I cant thank her enough. I am sure that all training events after this are going to be a little bland!
